DESCRIPTION

This 1965 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu SS convertible was acquired by its current owner in 1996 and refurbished approximately 15 years ago with a repaint in Cypress Green, new black vinyl upholstery, a rebuild of its four-speed manual transmission, and more. Power is from a 327ci V8, and the car is equipped with a power-operated convertible top and windows, assisted steering and brakes, and a set of 15″ Rev alloy wheels.

Rev alloy wheels feature polished lips and painted metallic gray spokes, and are mounted with Hankook Optimo HT tires measuring 215/60R-15 up front and 225/70R-15 out back. Braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear drums.

The 327ci V8 is stamped F1112EC and reportedly equipped with a Crane camshaft featuring 300° of duration as well as a Holley carburetor and factory exhaust manifolds. Underhood details include a dual-snorkel air cleaner and a period-style Delco battery. The selling dealer performed a general inspection and oil change in preparation for sale.

The car was repainted in its original Cypress Green (JJ) according to the selling dealer, and is equipped with a power-operated white convertible top that is shown both lowered and raised. SS trim includes the wheel arch moldings, bumper guards, and rear quarter badging.

The cabin features front bucket seats and has been reupholstered in black vinyl with a matching dash pad and carpets. Amenities include a factory AM radio and speaker, power windows, padded dash (B70), and Deluxe seat belts (A49). The selling dealer describes signs of age on the center console, which features a refurbished clock.

A wood-rimmed steering wheel is mounted to a rebuilt tilt column and frames a 120-mph speedometer, a “blinker” tachometer, and gauges for coolant temperature, fuel level, amperage, and oil pressure. The five-digit odometer shows just under 24k miles, approximately 3k of which have been added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.

Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission that is said to have been rebuilt and fitted with a new clutch. The rear axle wears code CV0322B, and further stampings are available in the gallery below.
