This 1960 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia coupe was refinished in black under previous ownership approximately 23 years ago and was acquired by the seller in 2008. The car was then placed in storage until 2016, when the seller commissioned a rebuild of the air-cooled 1,192cc flat-four, reupholstered the interior, refreshed the brake and suspension systems, refinished the floor pan with rust inhibitor paint, flushed the fuel system, and replaced the clutch, windshield, seals, and trim. Further details include a split-case four-speed manual transaxle, 15″ steel wheels, Coker Firestone bias-ply tires, an adjustable front axle beam, bullet-style turn signals, pop-our rear quarter windows, and an Abarth-style exhaust.

The coupe body was refinished in Black (L41) circa 2001 and features bullet-style turn signals, polished trim, pop-our rear quarter windows, “banana-style” taillights, and chrome bumpers with overriders. Images detailing the condition of the exterior are presented in the gallery below.

Steel 15″ wheels wear polished trim rings and chrome VW-stamped hubcaps with body-color accents, and they are mounted with 5.60-15 Coker Firestone Gum-Dipped bias-ply tires. A matching spare is housed in the front trunk. The car has been fitted with an adjustable front axle beam, and stopping power is provided by drum brakes at all four corners.
The front bucket seats and rear bench are trimmed in Red vinyl upholstery with white piping and True Red cloth inserts. Oatmeal square weave carpets are protected by black rubber floor mats, and additional interior elements include a fuel reserve flap, hand-crank windows, and a foot-operated high/low-beam switch. The radio is inoperative and the windshield wipers are slow.
The two-spoke steering wheel features a Wolfsburg crest center cap and frames a 90-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and a fuel-level gauge. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 32k miles, approximately 2k of which were added under current ownership. True mileage is unknown.
The air-cooled 1,192cc 36hp flat-four was reportedly overhauled in 2016 and features a single downdraft carburetor, an oil bath air cleaner, a generator charging system, and a four-tip Abarth-style exhaust.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a split-case four-speed manual transaxle.
